The Roorkee College was established in 1847
AD as the First Engineering College in the British Empire.
The College was renamed as The Thomason College of Civil Engineering
in 1854. In November 1949, the erstwhile college was elevated
to the First Engineering University of Independent India......

Chapter
One of the most active chapters among
all the Alumni chapters of University of Roorkee (Now
IIT-Roorkee) across the world. Established in the year
1974, the Thomsonian Club, Ghaziabad Chapter reflects
the contribution of the Thomsonian Club and their family
members to the society. This chapter represents the
forward thinking and dynamism of alumni, who are actively
involved in the development and make use of this plateform
for exchange of experience and expertise as well as
developing oneness among Thomsonians and their family
